Christian Blasberg, born in Wuppertal/Germany, is an experienced lecturer and researcher for contemporary history, comparative history of  political systems, European integration history, history of national populism and democracy, academic methodology and communication and German history and politics. Besides that he teaches German language for aspirant diplomats and German as a Foreign language at all levels.

He has studied at Heidelberg University and University of Montpellier, and has made his Ph.D. at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg in 2004. He has been granted a research scholarship at the German Historical Institute (DHI)  in Rome. Thereafter he has done Post-Doc research projects and other collaborations for several political foundations in Italy and Germany such as the Luigi Einaudi Foundation, Friedrich Naumann-Stiftung and Hugo-Preuss-Stiftung. 

He has taught at University of Heidelberg, Popular University in Rome, "Unitelma" Rome and LUISS Guido Carli University / LUISS School of Government. Furthermore he has been a Guest Professor at University of Montreal / Canada. Most recently he has entered the world of professional education accepting a teaching assignment for "History and Society" at Semper College Siegen.

Blasberg is fluent in English, Italian and French, besides his native German. Among his publications is the  recent 2019 volume "Sinistra - Una storia di fantasmi" (Luiss University Press) and several academic articles. At LUISS he has been since 2008 the academic coordinator for many English taught Master programs such as the Master in European Studies, Master in European and Global Affairs and Master in International Public Affairs.
